MATCH APPLICATION FORM

The matches for 2025 are listed below.

If you would like to take part in any of the matches please provide your name, club, email address, current handicap index and telephone number and tick the boxes for the matches for which you are available.

 

In general, the matches will be preceded by a light lunch at 12 noon.  The golf will commence at 1 p.m. in 4 ball better ball matches.   Occasionally there will be a change which will be notified in the specific email for the match. 

Following the golf there will be a 2 course match dinner.

If you would prefer to play or travel with a specified partner please add his details at the foot of the form.

 

Match application forms should be submitted before the end of March.  During April the allocation of matches will take place and members will be notified by email of the matches allocated to them.  You will be asked to respond to confirm that you have received the email and are available for the selected matches.

 

 It is very important that you do respond so that the match secretary can check up with any member who may not have received the email with the match allocation.

 

Experience shows that availability of some members may have changed after the form was submitted so if this occurs please let the match secretary know immediately.

 

Following the initial emails the match secretary may contact you to see if you are available for a further match due to the non availability of another member.

 

It is hoped that all allocations and availability checks will have taken place by the end of April at which point further emails will be sent.  There will be one email for each of the allocated matches with details of the match including the address of the host club and times at which proceedings will start.  Usually the matches will commence with a light lunch at 12 noon as stated above.  Occasionally there is a change which will be stated in the email so please note the times in your diary for each match.  The email will also include a list of the team members for that match to enable you to share travel if you wish.

 

Despite continuing rising costs the match fee will remain at £40 per player.  Note that the actual cost will still include a subsidy from WGC funds.

Payments should be made by online bank transfer to the WGC match account listed below.

Please make the payments at least 7 days before the match.  This confirms to the match secretary that you have not forgotten the match and will save him having to check up that you are still available and expecting to play.  Please note the payment date in your diary as well as the match date to ensure the payments are made in good time.
